Discovering the Solution...
When I was in eighth grade while sitting at a Pizza Hut in Newton Kansas after a basketball game, I first envisioned the Knork. I was all dressed up (We did this on game days) and I was in mixed company. This was the age where I was noticing girls and didn't want to be the kid who spilled pizza all over himself. Basically, I didn't want to pick up a piece of pizza and either burn my mouth because it was too hot, or drop some pizza sauce all over my nice shirt. So, like most people, the proper way to eat pizza is to use a fork. But the bad thing is, "a regular fork just doesn't cut it!" It is true, that forks are flat on the edge, and when pressure is applied, the only thing that happens is a sore finger. All you do is smash your food. I happened to look back and see one of the chefs at Pizza Hut using a rocking motion with a rounded blade to cut the pizza into slices. This is when I got the idea for a fork that was rounded on the edges. At the same time, I noticed that I got an irregular indention on my finger from pressing hard on the thin area near the head of the fork.
This is where the idea for the finger platform came into play. When I got home that night, I started to write down all the thoughts I had from a name, Knork, "kn" of the knife, and "ork" of the fork. I started to draw sketches of the idea on a piece of paper. I then put everything in an envelope and mailed it to myself. I did not open it, but instead I saved it. This at the time was called a poor man's copyright. A couple years later, I woke up at 3am, and took out a legal pad and started writing down everything about a company I wanted to start. This company was called Phantom Enterprises Inc, "The Mind Behind the Magic"! The Initial business model was for a consulting company.
Since I did not have a lot of business experience, I offered to help other companies come up with ideas to save money by utilizing new technology, or by coming up with products to better serve their needs. This is where the name Phantom Enterprises derived from. "The Mind Behind the Magic".
